Head-On Crash Sends 2 Drivers To Hospital In Bridgewater
A Honda Pilot crossed the double yellow centerline on Mountain Avenue on Wednesday and hit a Kia head-on, said Bridgewater Police.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Two drivers are injured following a head-on crash in Bridgewater on Wednesday.
At around 10:18 a.m., Bridgewater and Bound Brook Police went to Mountain Avenue near Route 22 East, where they found a 2007 Honda Pilot and a 2023 Kia Telluride disabled in the northbound lane, said Officer Tyler Ossenfort.
The Honda was being driven by a 43-year-old man from Newark and the Kia was being driven by a 19-year-old woman from South Bound Brook.

A preliminary investigation found that the Honda was driving southbound on Mountain Avenue "when, for reasons currently under investigation, it crossed the double yellow centerline and struck the Kia head-on," said Ossenfort.
Both drivers had non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation by the Bridgewater Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
