BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Somerset County is highlighting the services offered at the Richard Hall Community Health and Wellness Center in Bridgewater as the county-funded behavioral health center seeks volunteers and job applicants.

The center, at 500 North Bridge Street, serves an average of 2,500 residents each year, according to Somerset County.

Named after Somerset County’s first mental health administrator, Richard Hall has been accredited by the Joint Commission for more than 20 years, according to the county.

Since 1983, the center has operated as what the county describes as New Jersey’s only fully integrated, county-funded behavioral health center, serving children, adults, older adults and families.

Richard Hall offers on-site behavioral health care, primary medical and dental care through a partnership with Zufall Health, and on-site pharmacy services through a partnership with Genoa Healthcare, according to the county.

Somerset County said the center is designed as a one-stop setting so clients do not have to navigate multiple providers and locations to receive services.

"It is not by chance that we have this top-notch health center in the heart of Somerset County - the entire Board has consistently made health and wellness a priority,” said Commissioner Sara Sooy. "Richard Hall continues to provide comprehensive, expert care for residents of all ages, regardless of financial ability, who are facing challenges."

The county said Richard Hall provided more than 6,500 hours of case management services in 2026 outside of traditional talk or group therapies, including art, music and movement.

In the first half of 2026 alone, more than 2,800 clients participated in free wellness groups intended to reduce isolation, build connections, share experiences and develop coping strategies, according to Somerset County.

The center is staffed by more than 100 professionals, the county said.

It also offers targeted programs including Reach 4 Recovery, which provides community-based support and case management for residents affected by substance use, and Family Case Management, which is designed for families affected by substance use.

"Richard Hall is looking for community members who would like to share their time, talents, and experience with those we serve," said Executive Director Nicci Spinazzola. "We are especially interested in volunteers who can lead activities such as Tai Chi, veterans’ support groups, wellness activities, creative arts, music, dance, educational programs, and other meaningful opportunities. If you have a skill or passion, you’d like to share, we’d love to hear from you. Or, connect with our Human Resources department to apply for an open employment position."
