2026 Primary Elections In The Caldwells: Candidate Lists, Voter Info

Here's who filed to run for primary elections in Caldwell, North Caldwell and West Caldwell.

CALDWELLS, NJ — Several local candidates have filed to run in 2026 primary elections in Caldwell, North Caldwell and West Caldwell.

Democratic and Republican candidates will compete for their party’s nomination in a primary election on Tuesday, June 2. The winners will match up against any independent or third-party candidates for all the marbles in a general election on Nov. 3.

CALDWELL

Mayor (four year term):

  • Garrett Jones (Republican)
  • Kenneth Jurgensen (Democrat)

Borough Council (three year term, two seats available):

  • Andrew Pollara (Republican)
  • Brian Bambrick (Republican)
  • Jonathan Sagalow (Democrat)
  • Ricardo Alcorta (Democrat)

NORTH CALDWELL

Mayor (four year term):

  • Kenneth Tilton (Republican)
  • No Democrat petition filed

Borough Council (three year term, two seats available):

  • Anthony Floria-Callori (Democrat)
  • Aimee Luers-Franco (Democrat)
  • No Republican petitions filed

WEST CALDWELL

Mayor (four year term):

  • Joseph Tempesta Jr.
  • No Democrat petition filed

Township Council (three year term, two seats available):

  • Michael Docteroff (Republican)
  • Kathy Canale (Republican)
  • No Democrat petitions filed

In addition to the the local races in the Caldwells, voters will get to cast ballots for several county and federal seats. Primary races are taking place for U.S. senator, U.S. House of Representatives seats in the 10th and 11th districts, Essex County executive and the Essex County Board of Commissioners.

VOTER INFORMATION

Election Day for the 2026 primary takes place on June 2. Early in-person voting will take place from May 26 to May 31.

Here are a couple of other important dates for voters in the Caldwells to keep in mind if they plan to cast a ballot in the primary, according to the Essex County Board of Elections:

  • Last day for registration and transfer (21 days prior to election), May 12, 2026
  • Last day to apply by mail for a Vote-By-Mail Ballot (seven days prior to election), May 26, 2026
