Kids' Author Visit: Shelly D'Amato

Shelly D’Amato will visit the library to read her book, Danger, Danger Brain Invader, a social-emotional children’s book that helps kids challenge negative thoughts, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. Author visit will also include a collage activity. Drawing on over eight years of experience as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), Shelly creates stories that give children the language and tools to understand their emotions and navigate everyday challenges. Her book also supports parents, teachers, and therapists with practical strategies to help children apply these skills in real life.Shelly is a licensed mental health therapist and the founder of Evoke Counseling & Wellness, a private practice serving clients across New Jersey, New York, and Florida. She is passionate about helping children build emotional resilience and believes in making mental health support accessible, engaging, and empowering from an early age.
