The Chatham Community Players is excited to bring the musical comedy, “The ‘Drowsy Chaperone” with music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, and a book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar from April 17 – May 2, 2026 to The Chatham Playhouse 23 North Passaic Ave. Chatham. The Director is John AC Kennedy of Springfield, with Eric Van Hoven of Denville as Musical Director and Julia Cassisi of Cranford is the Choreographer.
Step into the whimsical world of The Drowsy Chaperone, a fast-paced musical comedy that bursts to life with outrageous characters and catchy, clever tunes to deliver a family-friendly, heartfelt tribute to the golden age of Broadway. As our narrator guides us through his favorite cast album, you’ll relive the wonderful absurdities of classic American musicals, get caught up in a ridiculous and engaging story, and be treated to parody/homage numbers that may be more fun than the originals. The Drowsy Chaperone is a fond and funny round-of-applause for live musical theater, and a joyful reminder of why we fell in love with the stage in the first place.
The talented cast includes actors from all around New Jersey: Starring Aaron Kellner of West Orange as Man in Chair, Sky Spiegel Monroe of Morristown as The Drowsy Chaperone, Devyn Joan Schoen of South River as Janet van de Graaf, Luke Basile of Morristown as Robert Martin, Edgar Hidalgo of Wests Orange as Aldolpho, Brendan Lynch-Littlejohn of Ridgewood as Feldzieg, Mikayla Cintrón of Kenilworth as Kitty, Ann Minski of Fanwood as Mrs. Tottendale, Donald Earle Howes of Chatham as Underling, Gus Ibranyi of West Caldwell as George, Jeff Campbell of Morristown as Gangster 1, Mario Capriola of Jersey City as Gangster 2, Tess Borsecnik of Jersey City as Trix the Aviatrix, and the Ensemble is made up of Joe Cremona of Nutley, Ann Pattan of New Providence, Emily Rhinesmith of Pompton Plains, Max Rogers of Linden and Nikki Vaiknoras of Cliffside Park.
Rounding out the production team is: Producer Joe DeVico, Stage Manager is Elizabeth Rogers, Scenic Designer is Roy Pancirov &amp; John AC Kennedy, Lighting Designer is Alex Fritsch, Costume Designer is Fran Harrison and Andrea Sickler, Sound Designer is Joe DeVico, Scenic Artist is Joëlle Bochner &amp; Dean Sickler, Props &amp; Set Decorator are Jessica Phelan and Make-up &amp; Wigs is Alyson Pemoulie’ Halter. "This production isn't just a ton of fun, it's a love letter to the magic of theater. Full of outstanding performances, great music and some heartfelt comedy, come let the Chaperone transport you from everything going on outside of our little playhouse. I guarantee you'll be entertained", explained DeVico.
Performance dates are April 17, 18, 24, 25, May 1 &amp; 2 at 8PM and April 26 at 3PM. All performances are at the Chatham Playhouse, 23 North Passaic Avenue, in Chatham. Advance Tickets are $27 for Adults &amp; $24 for Seniors/Students and Walk-Up/In-Person Tickets are $30 for Adults &amp; $27 for Seniors/Students. 
Tickets can be purchased online by accessing the theater’s online ticketing service, where you can now reserve your particular seat, simply go to <a href="https://ccp.ludus.com/index.php?sections=classes" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">chathamplayers.org</a>. The service is available 24 hours a day. For information regarding Tickets, please call the box office number at (973) 635-7363. Chef Leia Gaccione is the chef-owner of The Saint Clair in Montclair, New Jersey, where she showcases ingredient-driven modern American cuisine rooted in seasonal, local produce. Born and raised in Passaic, NJ, Leia began cooking at a young age and went on to graduate from The New York Restaurant School before training in several of Bobby Flay’s fine-dining restaurants. She later opened the acclaimed South+Pine American Eatery in Morristown. Leia has appeared on Top Chef, Chopped, Iron Chef America, and Beat Bobby Flay, and continues to mentor young chefs while advocating for women in the culinary industry.

The Annual New Providence Historical Society Craft Fair will take place on Saturday, May 9, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Rain date, May 16.
As in prior years, this popular activity will take place on the grounds of the society’s Salt Box Museum, 1350 Springfield Ave, New Providence, 07974.Craft Fair -
Close to a dozen Crafters this year, displaying their specialties on the spacious lawn of the museum. Registered Crafters so far are - The Space Waraku; Second Stage Creations; Lara Andrew Bath and Body Products; Floppy Ear Pottery; House of Wabi; OROZU by AZURE; Irina Nasonova; Pottery by Ilze and BaleCraft&nbsp; Woodworking. Also, on the grounds that day, the New Providence Garden Club, in it’s 87th year, will hold their annual Plant Sale. You’ll find a wide selection of various plant material, some obtained from local nurseries and garden centers, along with containerized transplants from club members’ home gardens. Be sure to get there early for best selection.Graveyard Tour -
In addition, the New Providence Historical Society will be hosting graveyard tours of the New Providence Presbyterian Church, across the street from the Salt Box. The tour will run at 1:30p.m. These amazing tours are guided by the society's own tricorn hat wearing John Sponauer. Roxiticus Golf Club

We are very excited to announce that the 8th annual Juniors Fore Goryeb youth charity golf event is back! It will be held on May 12,, 2026 at Roxiticus Golf Club in Mendham, NJ. Registration is at 3:30PM, shotgun start is at 4:00PM.
It is the annual fundraiser for Kids4Kids, the youth charity group of the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center.&nbsp; The group encourages children and teens to get involved with charity, volunteering, and fundraising through hands-on projects and group activities that benefit Atlantic Health Goryeb Children’s Hospital.
The event is a nine-hole scramble format (shotgun start) for junior golfers ages 10 through college-age with prizes, on-course games, and a box dinner to follow.&nbsp; Parents may participate with their kids, as well. &nbsp; And you can create your own twosome or foursome or be added to a group.&nbsp; Registration is $125 per player (group discounts are available).
Juniors Fore Goryeb is unique in that it is the only junior golf event in the area organized and run by kids (teens and young adults) for other kids.&nbsp; Funds from this year’s event will go towards Child Life Supplies for Child Life Specialists who focus on keeping young patients calm and distracted during their hospital stay and to support parents/caregivers of children cared for at Atlantic Health Goryeb Children’s Hospital in dire financial need (i.e. for transportation, medication, food, and financial assistance).&nbsp;
