Chatham Playhouse Kick Off Their 105th Season with “The Thanksgiving Play” by Larissa FastHorse

The Chatham Community Players is excited to begin their 105th season with the satirical comedy, “The Thanksgiving Play” by Sicangu Lakota playwright Larissa FastHorse from September 18 – October 3, 2026 at The Chatham Playhouse 23 North Passaic Ave. Chatham. Alysia Homminga of Brooklyn directs. “The team behind this play has been cooking up a feast that is sure to satisfy. We are developing a world for the play to live and breathe in, with every character painfully and hilariously founded in truth,” explained Homminga.

What does an ethical play about the first Thanksgiving look like? In this laugh 'til you cringe satire, journey with the four most well-meaning and misplaced white people you know as they explore their place in and responsibility to the First Thanksgiving narrative. Who knows? You might learn something along the way about history you'd rather not remember. Audiences will not want to miss this fast-paced, laugh-out-loud comedy that’s as thought-provoking as it is entertaining.

The talented cast includes actors from all around New Jersey: Starring Gabi Wagner Mann as Logan, Andrew Froelich as Jaxton both from Summit, Alan Ellis of Florham Park as Caden and Giuliana Sammarro of Boonton as Alicia.

Rounding out the production team is: Producers are Jessica Phelan & Missy Renwick, Stage Manager is Sarah Pharaon, Assistant Stage Manager is Jordyn Chait, Scenic Designer is Roy Pancirov, Lighting Designer is Jackson Gould, Costume Designer is Jackie Jacobi, Sound Designer is Joe DeVico, Scenic Artists are Joëlle Bochner and Dean Sickler, Props and Set Decorator are Jessica Phelan & Missy Renwick, Makeup & Wigs is Alyson Pemoulié Halter and Fight Coordinator is Steve Ruskin. “The Thanksgiving Play is a farcical evening that explores what happens when well-intentioned people take political correctness a little too far. It’s funny, real, and a little raucous,” explained Renwick. “We are so lucky to have a talented cast who is willing to take risks and try anything and everything to really find both the comedy and heart of this play,” added Phelan.

Performance dates are September 18, 19, 25, 26, October 2 & 3 at 8PM and September 27 at 3PM. All performances are at the Chatham Playhouse, 23 North Passaic Avenue, in Chatham. Advance Tickets are $27 for Adults & $24 for Seniors/Students and Walk-Up/In-Person Tickets are $30 for Adults & $27 for Seniors/Students.
