Child Stabs Man To Death In South Jersey, Prosecutor Says

The man collapsed outside Cooper Hospital.

CAMDEN, NJ — A 15-year-old was arrested after a deadly stabbing on August 1, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said.

The boy was charged with first-degree murder, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

At around 3 a.m., officers with the Camden County Police Department responded to Cooper University Hospital for a report of a person who was stabbed.

Davinne Evans, 28, of Camden, walked to the hospital and collapsed outside of the parking garage.

He was declared dead at around 3:50 a.m.

Officials were able to find a crime scene in the area of Broadway and Stevens Street and connect the child to the stabbing.

He was arrested and charged on Saturday.
