Hospital Safety Rankings: See How Local Facilities Scored In South Jersey

CHERRY HILL, NJ — The latest report from the ratings program focused solely on how safe hospitals are for patients has been released.

The Leapfrog Group conducts biannual safety grades of most general hospitals in the country, and their ability to protect patients from medical errors, accidents, injuries, and infections.

The national nonprofit organization scored each of the facilities on 22 measures that include healthcare-associated infections, bar code medication administration, and computerized physician order entry.

Along with information from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, additional supplemental information, such as imputation, was also assessed.

In 2026, 17 of the 22 categories showed significant improvement countrywide, according to Leapfrog.

New Jersey scored among the states with the highest percentage of "A" grade facilities, with 43.3 percent, or 29 of the entrants, receiving the letter.

The following list breaks down grades "A" through "C" across Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem Counties:

Leapfrog was founded in 2000 by a group of large employers and other entities.

The organization acts as an independent nonprofit that advocates for patient safety in different areas of healthcare systems.

The "Safety Grade" assessment began in 2012 as a way to help patients be more educated on a facility's track record and hopefully lead healthcare systems to reduce errors, injuries, accidents, and infections.
