New Restaurant Heating Up In South Jersey

Kids will eat free during a block party in honor of the new location.

CAMDEN, NJ — A bit of southern style is spicing up South Jersey.

"Church's Texas Chicken" is coming to Camden with a grand opening on Thursday as the state's only location.

The family-friendly block party will begin at 4 p.m. and feature live entertainment, kids' activities, and a chance to be one of 10 people to win free chicken for a year.

Kids will also eat free all day on Thursday. Up to two children ages 12 and under will get a two-piece leg and thigh meal with a regular side with the purchase of any full-price adult combo meal.

The block party will run until 7 p.m. at the new restaurant, located at 1701 Mt. Ephraim Ave.

The group will also present a charitable donation to the Camden Rescue Mission in order to give back to the local community.

Church's was founded in San Antonio in 1952 and specializes in hand-battered original and spicy chicken. They serve sandwiches, honey-butter biscuits, classic homestyle sides, and more.

Along with "Texas Chicken," the sister-brand of "Church's," the group has more than 1,400 locations across 22 countries.
