Man Stabbed Aunt To Death In South Jersey: Prosecutor
She was stabbed in the head and the neck.
LUMBERTON, NJ — A 40-year-old man was charged in the stabbing death of his aunt, the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office said.
Jason Mutschler, of Hainesport, was charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
On Friday, a relative found Vanessa Sturtevant, 60, dead inside her unit at the Sterling Glen Apartments on Eayrestown Road.

Through an autopsy, the Medical Examiner's Office learned that the death was a homicide, with stab wounds left to her head and neck, and blunt force trauma to her face and head.
Mutschler was identified as a suspect and found by New Jersey State Police in Hainesport.

He was then questioned at the Prosecutor's Office and later charged.
A detention hearing will be held in Mount Laurel before the case is prepared for presentation to a grand jury.
