Service Resumes After Train Hits Car In South Jersey

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.

BURLINGTON, NJ — A passenger train hit a car on Friday morning, NJ Transit said.

At around 11:50 a.m., a River Line light rail car hit a vehicle with three people inside at St. Mary's Crossing near Burlington Towne Center.

Two of those in the vehicle initially said they were injured, but refused medical care on scene, NJ Transit added.

No injuries were reported to the operator or riders aboard the River Line.

Service was suspended for around an hour in both directions between Florence Station and Burlington South Station.
