NJ Woman Kidnapped, Sex Trafficked Child Across 2 States: Authorities

The girl was brought to locations around Atlantic City, Cherry Hill, and Pennsylvania.

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — A woman from Collingswood was charged with kidnapping, human trafficking, and other crimes in connection with a prostitution ring, the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General said.

Dezeree Smith, 25, and Tamier R. Brown-Miller, 26, of Philadelphia, are both facing a long list of offenses that also include drug charges and violations involving a child.

On Oct. 14, 2025, the Atlantic City Police Department was notified of an underage girl who was sex trafficked from July 2025 to October 2025 in Atlantic City, Cherry Hill, and Pennsylvania.

Brown-Miller and Smith took her to different motels where she would take part in commercial sex acts with men, officials said.

Graphic sexual photos were taken by Brown-Miller and uploaded onto social media in order to advertise the girl's escort services.

He also gave her illegal drugs and assaulted her, according to authorities. Brown-Miller and Smith kept all of the money from the sex trafficking.

On Oct. 30, 2025, both were charged in connection with a different human trafficking case from Gloucester City where local police responded to a motel after a victim reported that she was being sex trafficked.

Brown-Miller told her that he knew where her family lived and that he would kill them if she did not work for him.
