UNION, NJ — The southern burger slider chain, Krystal, is touching down in the Northeast for the first time ever with a new location in Union County.

Super Bowl XLVI Champion and former New York Giant Victor Cruz, a brand partner, will lead the opening at 2200 Route 22 E. in Union on March 2.

"Bringing Krystal to New Jersey isn't just a business milestone, it's personal for me," Cruz said. "Now I get to bring a brand I love to the place that raised me, and I can't wait to share it with friends, neighbors, and a whole new generation of fans."

The Union location will serve the traditional full menu of sliders and sides, along with Cruz-themed favorites. Krystal also offers a loyalty program, "Club Krystal," that provides special deals and other rewards.

The store will hold two hiring events at the restaurant from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Feb. 11 and Feb. 12, and on Feb. 17 through Feb. 20. Applicants should bring a valid ID and Social Security number, the restaurant said.

The brand's senior director of marketing, Kaitlin Kees, said the move to New Jersey "reflects the momentum" they've built and their confidence that Krystal will "resonate well beyond the South."

Krystal has been flipping hamburgers since 1932 and is headquartered in Atlanta. The brand was acquired by SPB Hospitality in 2023 and serves 13 states.
