Here's What Cranford Residents Should Know About Storm Debris

Officials are reminding residents how to handle fallen branches and where to report damaged public trees.

CRANFORD, NJ — After recent rain and strong winds caused trees and branches to come down across the area, Cranford officials are reminding residents what they need to know about storm debris cleanup.

The township said tree debris from private property is the responsibility of the property owner. Residents are also being asked not to place branches, leaves or other yard debris in roadways or gutters, where they could block storm drains and prevent rainwater from flowing properly.

The reminder comes as communities continue cleaning up following recent severe weather that brought heavy rain and strong winds to the region.
