LEGO Masters Champion Coming To Cranford For Downtown Building Competition

CRANFORD, NJ — A downtown Cranford tradition is getting a star-powered twist this summer.

The Township's Downtown Business and Economic Development Office has opened registration for its 2026 Downtown Cranford LEGO Night, which will feature appearances by LEGO Masters champion Corey D. Samuels and fellow LEGO Masters contestants Tacos and Travis.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Cranford Social Party & Special Occasion Venue.

Young builders and families will compete in three age categories: children ages 7 and under, ages 8 to 13, and a family division. Contestants are asked to bring their own LEGO bricks — but not pre-built sets — and create an original display.

This year's competition also carries a patriotic theme in honor of the nation's 250th anniversary, with participants encouraged to incorporate both American pride and Cranford into their creations.

There are three building divisions:

• Ages 7 and under (300-piece limit)
• Ages 8 to 13 (500-piece limit)
• Families (1,000-piece limit)

Registration is required for child participants and includes a Downtown Cranford gift card, a Vanilla Bean Creamery ice cream pass and a bag of LEGO candy.

The Downtown Business and Economic Development Office is accepting registrations and encourages families to sign up in advance.
