Morris County Library Strikes A Chord For Hispanic Heritage

EAST HANOVER, NJ — The Morris County Library is tuning up for Hispanic Heritage Month with a free evening of bilingual music.

Argentine-American guitarist, singer and songwriter Alejandro Meola will perform from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, at the library, 30 East Hanover Avenue in Whippany.

Meola blends rock, folk, blues, Latin and world music, taking listeners across genres and languages. The New York City-area musician and educator has performed throughout the United States, Europe and Latin America, including in Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Paris, Barcelona, Mexico and Buenos Aires.

Meola was also included on NPR’s World Cafe Best New Latinx playlist, according to the library.

For East Hanover residents, the free concert offers a nearby opportunity to experience bilingual music without traveling far or paying admission. It also encourages cultural appreciation and introduces audiences to musical traditions and influences from across Latin America.

No registration is required, but seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The concert offers an early celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, which begins September 15.
