East Windsor Seeking Nominations For Senior Volunteer Award
The Sylvia Weiss Award honors residents 60 and older who give back to their community.
EAST WINDSOR, NJ — East Windsor is looking for nominations for the annual Sylvia Weiss Senior Citizen Award for Outstanding Service as a Volunteer.
The award goes to a resident 60 or older who has shown exceptional commitment to the community through volunteer work. That service can be with schools, houses of worship, service organizations or the general public, and can be in a leadership role or hands-on direct service.
The award is named after Sylvia Weiss, a former township council member who also served as the council's senior citizen advisor and chaired the Commission on Aging. She played a key role in creating the township's senior citizen program.

"It is a wonderful vehicle to recognize an outstanding senior in the community and to honor Mrs. Weiss," Mayor Janice Mironov said.
The award will be presented at a ceremony during Older Americans Month.

Nomination forms are available on the township website at www.east-windsor.nj.us or by calling the Municipal Clerk's Office at (609) 443-4000, ext. 438. Completed forms should be mailed to: Sylvia Weiss Senior Volunteer Award, Attn: Mayor Janice Mironov and Council Members, East Windsor Municipal Building, 16 Lanning Boulevard, East Windsor, N.J. 08520.
The deadline to submit a nomination is March 24.
