Fireworks, Free Concerts Headline East Windsor's Summer Lineup

The season kicks off July 3 with a holiday celebration at Etra Lake Park.

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Township Council Members are inviting residents to the East Windsor Township Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 3, at Etra Lake Park. The rain date is Saturday, July 11.

Free entertainment begins at 6 p.m. with Jerry Rife's Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band, followed at 7:45 p.m. by the Trenton Brass Quintet Plus One. A fireworks display will follow immediately after, at approximately 9:30 p.m.

"Our Nation's Independence Day is a great occasion for our residents to join together in celebration and recognition of our blessings of liberty and freedom," Mironov said, urging residents to "bring your blankets and chairs, and use the barbecue grills for a night of free fun at beautiful Etra Lake Park." Vendors will be on-site selling refreshments. The event is made possible through contributions from area businesses.

The Independence Day celebration kicks off the township's summer program of free events at Etra Lake Park, which includes:

  • Friday, June 26 at 6 p.m. — "Movie Night in the Park," featuring a screening of Disney's animated film "Hoppers," preceded by music, dancing and face-painting.
  • Sunday, July 19 at 6 p.m. — Rock Bottom, a "Jersey shore party machine" covering everything from Billy Joel and Motown to Paramore and Dua Lipa.
  • Saturday, July 25 at 6 p.m. — The Verdict, performing Soca and Reggae music with Caribbean flair.
  • Sunday, August 2 at 6 p.m. — El Ka Bong, performing chart-toppers and classics across genres with a modern rock spirit.
  • Sunday, August 9 at 6 p.m. — Kickin' Wing, blending pop, rock and soulful hits from the 1970s and '80s.

In case of inclement weather, residents can call the East Windsor Information Hotline at (609) 443-4000, ext. 400, after 1 p.m. on the day of the event. Rained-out concerts will move indoors to the East Windsor Regional School District's Melvin H. Kreps School auditorium.
