Hightstown High School Choirs Headed To Carnegie Hall In June
2 HHS choral ensembles will perform at the legendary New York City venue alongside choirs from Puerto Rico and Florida.
EAST WINDSOR, NJ— Two choral ensembles from Hightstown High School will perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City this June, joining choirs from Puerto Rico and Florida for an evening concert featuring a full symphony orchestra.
The HHS Advanced Choir and Schola Cantorum Honors Choir are scheduled to take the stage June 6 at 8:30 p.m. as part of a multi-ensemble program presented with the New England Symphonic Ensemble. Conductors Yelitza Greene and Jay Dunn will lead the Hightstown singers.
Also performing will be Escuela Especializada Libre de Música-Juan Peña Reyes and Escuela Libre de Música-Ernesto Ramos Antonini, both from Puerto Rico, and the University HS Performing Fine Arts Magnet Concert Choir from Florida.

"Their talent and dedication shine a light on the excellence of choral education in our district," said Libby Gopal, visual and performing arts supervisor for the East Windsor Regional School District.
Superintendent Mark Daniels called the invitation a testament to the students, their choir director and the district's performing arts program. “"The invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall is a tremendous honor and a testament to the talent of our students, the inspiration of our choir director, and an opportunity to showcase the district’s performing arts program," Daniels said.
