Edison Board of Education To Appoint New High School Principal

EDISON, NJ - Edison High School will soon have a new leader at the helm. The Board of Education set to formally appoint James Falco as the school's next principal on Aug. 25, according to a letter from Superintendent of Schools Edward Aldarelli.

Falco currently serves as assistant principal of Thomas Jefferson Middle School, where Aldarelli said he has established himself as a "highly visible, hands-on, and student-centered leader."

"Throughout our extensive and competitive selection process, he demonstrated a clear understanding of what makes a strong school community: meaningful relationships, high expectations, effective communication, and a commitment to ensuring every student feels supported, challenged, and connected," Aldarelli wrote.

Aldarelli said the district sought a leader who would be "present, approachable, responsive, and invested in the success of students, staff, and families" for Edison High School's next chapter. “I am confident that Dr. Falco is that leader,” Aldarelli said.

Over the coming weeks, Falco will begin connecting with students, families, teachers and staff as he prepares for the opening of the 2026-2027 school year, according to the letter. He will also work with the Edison High School administrative team and district leadership on the transition.

“Dr. Falco brings energy, commitment, and a collaborative approach to leadership,” Aldarelli said. “I am confident that he will honor the school’s proud history, build upon its many strengths, and work alongside our students, staff, families, and the broader Edison High School community to continue moving Edison High School forward.”
