Edison Township Schools Accepted Into Digital Promise Network

EDISON, NJ — Edison Township Public Schools has been accepted into the League of Innovative Schools, a national network of school districts organized by the nonprofit Digital Promise, the district announced.

The League connects education leaders across the country to share innovative practices in teaching and learning. Edison was selected from a national pool of applicants based on its educational leadership, commitment to excellence, vision for learning and collaborative approach, according to the district.

Dr. Edward Aldarelli represents Edison Township Public Schools in the League.

"Community engagement is embedded directly into our district's strategic plan because we believe innovation must be co-created with the community," Aldarelli said in a statement.

"Over the past several years, we have intentionally expanded opportunities for authentic involvement, ensuring that families, staff, community members, and students have meaningful ways to help shape our work."

As members, district leaders, educators and students will gain access to in-person visits with education systems nationally and internationally, virtual peer-to-peer collaboration with other League districts, and partnerships with Digital Promise researchers to develop and pilot new approaches aimed at improving student outcomes.

"The best solutions in education right now aren't coming from any one district working alone," said Jillian Doggett, director of network supports at Digital Promise. "For 15 years, the League has proven that when leaders see innovative practices firsthand, learn alongside peers facing the same challenges, and co-design research-backed solutions with our team, everyone moves faster."

Edison joins the League's newest cohort as the network celebrates its 15th anniversary. Digital Promise says League districts collectively represent 175 districts across 37 states and have reached more than 4.4 million students since the network's founding.
