Edison's Diwali Celebration Returns To Papaianni Park Nov. 7

Food, food truck and non-food vendors can apply through Oct. 26 for a spot at the annual celebration.

EDISON, NJ — The largest Diwali Festival returns to Papaianni Park on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 5 to 9 p.m., with a rain date set for Nov. 14.

The Township of Edison and the Edison Recreation Department are calling this Edison's largest cultural celebration, drawing more than 10,000 attendees for an evening of lights, culture, food, music and family fun.

The township is now accepting applications from food vendors, food trucks and non-food vendors for the event. Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The application deadline is Monday, Oct. 26.

Vendor fees range from $250 for a 10-by-10-foot grass space for non-profit organizations to $1,000 for a 10-by-16-foot parking lot space with a wooden hut. There are no water hookups or electrical connections available at the event site, so vendors must provide their own tables, chairs, tents, generators, tent weights and all other necessary equipment.

All vendors must obtain required permits from the Edison Health Department and Edison Fire Department. Failure to pay permit fees will result in a late fee on the day of the event, and applications are not approved until all fees are paid in full.
