Metuchen Switches Emergency Alert System From CodeRed To Everbridge
Residents can sign up for notifications on severe weather, road closures, police activity and DPW updates.
METUCHEN, NJ — The Borough of Metuchen is switching its community notification service from CodeRed to Everbridge, the same vendor that operates the borough's Nixle alert system.
Everbridge provides a portal where residents can manage their emergency notifications and alert preferences, according to the borough. Users will receive immediate notifications about local threats such as severe weather, road closures and police activity, along with Department of Public Works updates, including rescheduled garbage collection days.
Residents can opt in or out of alerts and control what personal information is shared with the organization sending each alert, according to the borough.
