Englewood Students Open A New School Year Tuesday

Students return Tuesday after teachers spend three days preparing classrooms for the new school year.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Fresh notebooks and sharpened pencils are nearly ready as Englewood students begin the 2026-27 school year next Tuesday.

Teachers will prepare classrooms during orientation this Thursday, Friday and Monday, according to the district calendar. Students then report next Tuesday across the district’s six schools: Dwight Morrow High School, Janis E. Dismus Middle School, Dr. Leroy McCloud Elementary School, Dr. John Grieco Elementary School, D.A. Quarles Early Childhood Center and Academies at Englewood.

The calendar gives families a long Labor Day weekend, with schools and district offices closed next Friday and the following Monday.
