Bergen County Home Sale Sets NJ Record For This Year

A house in Bergen County just sold for the highest price in New Jersey so far this year. The runners up are also nearby.

SADDLE RIVER, NJ — The $9.25 million sale of a Saddle River house just set a record for New Jersey home sales this year.

The six-bedroom, 2.1-acre estate was sold on Aug. 17, said listing agent Jason Piece, who heads up the New Jersey Proper team at Prominent Properties Sotheby’s.

The home is also the fourth most expensive sold in New Jersey in the last two years, according to NJ Proper — with the others also located in Bergen County.

“Closing 23 East Denison Drive at $9.25 million establishes a significant 2026 benchmark for Saddle River,” said Pierce.

Saddle River is known for its expansive estates and celebrity owners, including former Pres. Richard Nixon, who lived in the town from 1981 to 1991.

Both Pierce and the agent for the buyer, Max Stokes, declined to provide details about the new owner.

The sale was the highest-priced residential transaction reported by the New Jersey Multiple Listing Service so far this year. It was also the fourth-highest in the last few years, according to NJ Proper, which listed these sales as the highest:

  • 48 Rio Vista Drive, Alpine, $17.7M, September 2025
  • 4 Stone Tower Drive, Alpine, $16.7M, July 17, 2024
  • 8 Stone Tower Drive, Alpine, $11.1M, Jan. 14, 2025
  • 23 East Denison Drive, Saddle River
  • 388 Morrow Road, Englewood, $8.5M, Sept. 26, 2025.

The 11,581-square-foot Saddle River home boasts six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and two half bathrooms.

It includes architecture by Jordan Rosenberg and interiors by Vanessa DeLeon Associates.
