"Red, White & Bloostein Shabbat" to welcome new Rabbi Eitan Bloostein to Congregation B'nai Sholom/Fair Lawn Jewish Center on Saturday, July 4
Congregation B’nai Sholom/Fair Lawn Jewish Center (CBS/FLJC), which was formed in January 2024 as a result of the merger of the Fair Lawn Jewish Center/Congregation B’nai Israel and Temple Beth Sholom of Fair Lawn, has hired Rabbi Eitan Bloostein, as the new permanent rabbi, beginning on July 1.
Rabbi Bloostein earned a BA in Religion from Tufts University outside of Boston and rabbinical ordination by the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. For the past four years, Rabbi Bloostein served as the sole rabbinic presence at Congregation Eitz Chaim in Monroe, NY. He also served for two years as a Rabbinic Intern at Sutton Place Synagogue in New York City. He is also deeply involved in conversion processes, adult education, young professional programming, and life-cycle preparation.
CBS/FLJC President, Neil Garfinkle, said, “We are so excited to have Rabbi Bloostein join us. With his energy and ideas, we look forward to remaining a strong voice for Conservative Judaism in Fair Lawn and the surrounding area for many years to come.”
Rabbi Bloostein echoed Mr. Garfinkle’s sentiments, saying “I could not be happier to be joining Congregation B’nai Sholom/Fair Lawn Jewish Center. It is a wonderful congregation with a long and rich history in Bergen County that I am excited to be part of.”
CBS/FLJC announced his first sabbath service on Saturday, July 4 as being a “Red, White and Bloostein Shabbat.”
