The Bookshop welcomes back the New Yorker cartoon genius Edward Steed to discuss his latest collection of wry cartoons, "Happy Hour."
Ed will be in conversation with Beth Lawler and Andrew Pincus, who host the New Yorker Cartoon Contest Podcast and Facebook group and sell original cartoon art. He will be introduced by Peter Schmidt, educator and cartoon lover, and his cartoon-aficionado grandson Francis.
Edward Steed has been called "the greatest single-panel cartoonist since Charles Addams." He's contributed cartoons and cover art to The New Yorker for more than a decade, and his Father John Misty CD cover won him a Grammy for Best Recording Package. "Happy Hour" is his second published cartoon collection.
Reservations ($25) include a signed copy of "Happy Hour," a specially-made pin with an Edward Steed doodle created for this event, and a post-reading reception for the author.
