Firefighters Rescue Fallen Horse In Snow In Hunterdon County
The horse had been down in the snow for more than 30 minutes, unable to get up on Wednesday night.
EAST AMWELL, NJ — Volunteer firefighters worked together to rescue a fallen horse that was unable to stand in the snowy terrain on Wednesday night.
On Wednesday, at around 7:46 p.m., Amwell Valley Fire Company was called for a large animal rescue involving a horse that was unable to stand.
Firefighters found the horse lying on its side on a snow-covered incline, unable to get up.

"Working together, rescuers used lifting straps and manually pulled to slide the horse up the slight slope. Once repositioned, the animal was carefully rolled onto its opposite side after being down for more than 30 minutes," said the fire department.
After a few minutes and several tries, the horse stood and was safely led back into the barn by the New Jersey State Police and the owner.
