Brazilian Steakhouse To Open 4th NJ Location: See Where

FREEHOLD, NJ — Fogo de Chão, a restaurant founded in Brazil over 46 years ago, has signed a lease agreement at Freehold Raceway Mall.

Known for its elevated churrasco dining experience, the 8,000-square-foot restaurant will mark Fogo’s continued expansion in New Jersey and will be located within the mall's Outdoor Village by the Center Court Entrance.

This new Freehold location is part of Fogo’s accelerated growth strategy in 2026, and follows the recent announcement of a new restaurant in Raleigh, North Carolina, as well as the upcoming opening of the brand’s first North Carolina restaurant in Charlotte this August.

Fogo’s development pipeline also includes domestic and international openings in markets such as Las Vegas, Nevada; Peabody, Massachusetts; Tegucigalpa, Honduras; and more.

The new Freehold location will aim to showcase Fogo’s “enhanced design and innovation platforms,” offering an approachable setting where guests can enjoy a 360-degree view of an open churrasco grill and can watch Gaucho Chefs butcher, hand carve and grill high-quality cuts of protein over an open flame.

The new restaurant at Freehold Raceway Mall marks Fogo de Chão’s latest collaboration with Macerich, following recent announcements that include new restaurants at Crabtree in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream, New York.

The opening will mark the fourth Fogo location in New Jersey, joining others in Bridgewater, Paramus and Wayne.
