Road Closures Set For 152nd Memorial Day Parade In Freehold: See Where

No local or thru traffic will be allowed between the start and end of the parade, which is set to take place throughout Freehold.

FREEHOLD, NJ — Multiple roads are set to close on Monday for Freehold's 152nd Memorial Day Parade.

Beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, borough officials said the following roads will start to close:

  • Bennett Street (between Main Street and Jackson Street)
  • Brinkerhoff Avenue & Berkeley Place
  • Broad Street (between Route 33 and Manalapan Avenue)
  • Broadway (between Main Street and Jackson Terrace)
  • Center Street (between Main Street and Market Yard Lot)
  • Court Street (between Main Street and CVS Lot Entrance)
  • Ellis Street and Fulton Street
  • Henry Street (in its entirety)
  • Hull Avenue (between Main Street and Kiawah Avenue)
  • Kiawah Avenue & Sunset Court
  • Lincoln Place (between Main Street and Kiawah Avenue)
  • Main Street (between Route 33 and Bennett Street)
  • Manalapan Avenue (between Main Street and 1st Baptist Church)
  • McLean Street (at Main Street and Kiawah Avenue)
  • Monument Street into Pond Road (between Court Street and Glendale Drive)
  • Morris Street (between Schanck Street and Edgewood Drive)
  • Murray Street & Schank Street
  • Oak Street (between Ellis Street and Monument Street)
  • Prospect Place & Stillwell Place
  • Quinn Boulevard (at Monument)
  • Sheriff Street (between Main Street & Lafayette Street)
  • South Street (between Main Street and Mechanic Street)
  • Spring Street (between Main Street and Schanck Street)
  • Throckmorton Street (between South Street and Broad Street)
  • Yard Avenue (between Main Street and Broad Street)

Certain access points to the Downtown Area will be closed starting at 6 a.m., officials said.

No local or thru traffic will be allowed between 7:30 a.m. and the end of the parade, which is set for about 12:30 p.m.

Borough officials are asking drivers to plan an alternate route and keep road closures in mind when traveling to and from their homes.

No vehicles will be allowed to go through the barricades for any reason once the roads close, and no cars will be allowed to park on those roads.

Starting at 6 a.m. on Monday, there will be a No Parking Ordinance in effect, in addition to the 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. road closure.

The best way to maneuver around the center of town would be to use Park Avenue (Route 33) to get to Route 9 or to Kozloski Road and Robertsville Road to Dutch Lane Road or East Freehold Road, officials said.

There will be no access to Monument Street from Crestwood Drive and Edgewood Drive. Residents can access through Birch Drive only.
