Debate Set For Van Drew, Mullock In 2nd District U.S. House Race

The one-hour debate at Stockton University will be livestreamed, with public questions accepted by email.

GALLOWAY, NJ — The William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at Stockton University and The Press of Atlantic City will co-sponsor an Oct. 22 debate between the major-party candidates in New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District race for the U.S. House of Representatives.

The one-hour debate is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Campus Center Theatre on Stockton University’s Galloway campus. Republican incumbent Jeff Van Drew and Democratic challenger Zack Mullock are set to take part, according to a news release announcing the event.

The debate will be held without a live audience, according to the release. It will be livestreamed on the Hughes Center’s YouTube page and on The Press of Atlantic City’s website, giving residents across the district a way to watch the event as it happens.

Members of the public can also submit possible questions for the candidates before the debate. According to the release, questions may be sent by email to the Hughes Center at hughescenter@stockton.edu or to The Press of Atlantic City at newstips@pressofac.com. The subject line should read “CD2 Questions.”

The debate will feature two panelists who will ask questions of the candidates. They are Nicholas Huba, digital editor for The Press of Atlantic City, and Alyssa Maurice, assistant director for the Hughes Center, according to the release.
