Jersey Shore Cop Accused Of Misusing Federal Crime Database

NORTHFIELD, NJ — A Northfield police officer is accused of misusing a law enforcement database, authorities said.

Malachi Valentine, 25, of Pleasantville, was charged with second-degree official misconduct, second-degree pattern of official misconduct, third-degree computer criminal activity and petty disorderly persons harassment, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Prosecutor’s Office said an investigation found that Valentine used the National Crime Information Center, or NCIC, database outside the scope of his employment while employed by the Northfield Police Department.

According to authorities, the alleged conduct dates back to his appointment in 2023.

Valentine was taken into custody and released on a complaint-summons, officials said.
