Neighbor Spots Car Thief In South Jersey, Police Say

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A woman was arrested on Monday after she was found in an unlocked car, the Gloucester Township Police Department said.

At around 8:30 a.m., officers responded to a report made by a neighbor of a suspicious person in the area who was checking car door handles.

According to authorities, officers arrived within minutes of the call and found the woman as she got out of the unlocked vehicle.

She was taken into custody, and stolen goods were recovered and returned to their owners.

A few moments before her arrest, the woman tried to get in another car nearby but was unsuccessful because it was locked.
