NJ Cop Hit With More Charges After Filming Children In Bathrooms: Authorities

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — New charges were filed against a Gloucester Township Police Department officer after he was found to have secretly created more child pornography, court records show.

Randy Pearce, 38, of Lower Alloways Creek Township, had been charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child after filming a boy in a bathroom.

Two more victims were uncovered, according to new filings in both Camden and Salem Counties, where Pearce is now charged with three counts of both charges.

On April 14, the Salem County Prosecutor's Office received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that someone uploaded a video of Child Sexual Abuse Material to the Verizon Cloud.

Pearce was identified through database research as the owner of an email address used and the Verizon account, officials said.

After a warrant was issued for a search of the Cloud account, it was determined that he had videos of a boy and secretly put a camera in a bathroom that caught the child while nude.

On June 12, a search warrant was carried out at Pearce's home where multiple electronic devices were confiscated.

A digital camera was found with a memory card inside.

On April 28 and April 29, 2020, at Pearce's Sicklerville home, he recorded a child who was at his house taking part in a sex act with a sex toy in a bathroom, court filings showed.

On July 28, the boy gave a statement to authorities that identified himself in the video when he was around 11 or 12 years old and did not know he was being recorded.

During the search of Pearce's home on June 12, more videos were found on a memory card in a digital camera that showed a boy in one of the outbuilding bathrooms at a location in the City of Salem.

It was determined that Pearce recorded this in April.

After authorities said they noticed a distinctive western-style belt in the video, they were able to match the child to a picture on the Verizon Cloud account who was wearing the same style belt.

The child was then able to identify himself in the photos that were shown to him by detectives.

A total of 18 electronic devices were confiscated from Pearce's home.

Pearce is an Army veteran and former school resource officer, according to ABC.

He is also the co-owner and business manager of Swazey Farms in Lower Alloways Creek.

Patch has reached out to Gloucester Township Police for Pearce's current status of employment and is yet to hear back.

According to court records, the next hearing in this case is scheduled for October 8.
