Hackettstown Medical Center Jumps To 4-Star CMS Hospital Quality Rating
The Atlantic Health facility improved from three stars in 2025 in the federal agency's annual overall hospital quality rankings.
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Atlantic Health Hackettstown Medical Center earned a four-star rating in the 2026 Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating system, improving from three stars in 2025.
Hackettstown was one of three Atlantic Health hospitals to achieve a four-star rating. Two other Atlantic Health facilities — Chilton Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center — each improved to five stars, the top rating.
Only 12 percent of hospitals evaluated nationwide and seven in New Jersey achieved five-star status this year.

The CMS star rating system evaluates hospitals across measures, including mortality, safety of care, readmission rates, patient experience, and timeliness and effectiveness of care.
