More Than 200 Jobs Slashed At NJ Tech, Manufacturing Firms

BARRINGTON, NJ — More than 200 people at two technology and manufacturing companies are set to lose their jobs in the fall, according to new federal employment filings.

The notices, filed under the Worker Adjustment and Restraining Notification Act, list Automatic Data Processing Inc. ("ADP") and International Paper next to layoffs scheduled to be effective in September.

International Paper's box plant in Barrington will lose 126 employees, while the ADP headquarters in Roseland is cutting a group of 76.

ADP offers payroll and other staff management software supported by cloud and artificial intelligence technology around the world.

Around 67,000 people are employed by ADP globally.

International Paper, based in Memphis, produces shipping and retail containers to be used across industrial operations.

They also offer graphic design, recycling services, and retail display options.

International Paper operates in more than 30 countries and employs more than 65,000 people.

Patch has reached out to both companies for more details on the staff reduction filings and is yet to hear back.
