3-Foot Python Found In NJ Car
Earlier this week, a resident reported that a snake was stuck in the grill of a vehicle, said police.
FRANKLIN, NJ — A three-foot python trapped inside the grill of a car was removed by Franklin Township Police on Monday.
On Monday, an Oakland Avenue resident reported a snake was stuck in the grill of a vehicle, said Public Safety Director Lloyd Fredericks.
To get to the snake, officers removed portions of the vehicle, including the front bumper.

Officers were then able to safely free the snake and take it to the Franklin Township Animal Shelter.
The approximately 3-foot-long snake was identified as a ball python by Animal Control Officers, said Fredericks.

"Releasing an exotic animal into the wild is not only illegal but also poses a threat to native species and pets," stated Director Fredericks. "Anyone who has a pet snake they no longer able to or willing to care for is urged to contact the Franklin Township Animal Shelter to surrender the animal."
