Hillsborough Plans Scarecrow Festival Family Fun Awards Ceremony

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Township is partnering with telecommunications provider Brightspeed for this year’s Scarecrow Festival Family Fun Awards Ceremony.

The free community event is planned for Monday, Oct. 26, at the Hillsborough Municipal Complex, 379 South Branch Road, and will run from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Throughout October, residents and visitors are invited to view scarecrow displays along the front of the complex and vote online using QR codes posted throughout the display area.

The family event will include face painting, temporary tattoos, balloon animals, light seasonal refreshments, activities and giveaways.

Brightspeed is sponsoring a live DJ and photo booth for attendees during the evening.

"The Scarecrow Festival is one of our favorite autumn traditions, bringing out the incredible creativity and community spirit of Hillsborough residents and organizations," said Mayor Catherine Payne. "We are thrilled to partner with Brightspeed this year to offer our families a wonderful evening of entertainment as we celebrate the hard work and imagination that went into each of these displays.'

Payne and members of the Township Committee will announce the contest winners and present awards beginning at 5:30 p.m. The awards ceremony is set to cap the month-long celebration tied to the annual display.
