Woman Struck & Killed In Franklin Township, Prosecutor Says
Somerset County officials are investigating the fatal crash that occurred Wednesday evening.
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Franklin Township woman was struck and killed while crossing Hamilton Street on Wednesday evening, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said.
Franklin Township police officers responded to Hamilton Street near Francis Street at 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. According to initial investigation, the woman was crossing Hamilton Street when she was struck by the driver of a Toyota Corolla, County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said.
The woman, a Franklin Township resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver did not report any injuries.

Members of the Somerset County Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team and the Franklin Township Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau responded to investigate, along with investigators from the Northern Regional Medical Examiner's Office.
The investigation is ongoing, pending the results of the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team's findings.
