5 New North Jersey Restaurants To Try That Opened In January

Tired of being stuck inside? Eat out. Here are five North Jersey restaurants that Patch wrote about last month.

NORTH JERSEY, NJ — Tired of being snowed in and want to enjoy a meal out, or at least go get takeout? Here are five restaurants that opened recently in North Jersey. And if you know of a place opening in the area, let Patch know!

Vette Ristorante

Vette Ristorante at Calabria has opened in Livingston. Inside the Calabria restaurant building, the new addition intends to “elevate the traditional trattoria." Chef and sommelier Maurizio de Rosa brings more than 30 years of global gastronomic experience. Menu items include fresh pastas with seasonal preparations. Dosti & Chai

A chocolate and chai tea shop opened in Somerville in mid-January. The store started as a pop-up before partnering with Discover Chocolate for the new location at 24 Division St. Besides its signature spiced chai and candies, the shop will host weekly events to bring people together. Tacoria Mexican Street Kitchen

The newest location of Tacoria Mexican Street Kitchen announced its grand opening in Summit for late January. Known for farm-raised food made fresh daily, it serves up traditional burritos, tacos, quesadillas, guacamole, and a special treat: "Nutella Nachos" with brown sugar, cinnamon, Nutella spread, and powdered sugar on top of a plate of chips. Wingstop

After soft opening on New Year's Eve, the Hoboken location of the Wingstop franchise is hoping to reach new customers, said manager Raj Patel. The national chain opened in Texas in 1994 and has more than 2,500 locations worldwide. The Hoboken location is open from 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. every day, just in time for the Super Bowl. The menu, including hot honey, Saucy Sriracha, and Sweet and Garlic. They also sell chicken sandwiches, tenders, sides like French fries, and desserts. Smash & Grab

Several new restaurants opened recently at American Dream mall, including the Smash & Grab burger stop. "Serving up crave-worthy burgers, loaded fries, and unique twists you’ll be dreaming about long after your first bite," said a mall spokesperson. More information is here.
