Fire In Hoboken Closes Road Thursday Morning: Officials
A road near one of Hoboken's exits was closed Thursday morning due to a fire, officials said.
HOBOKEN, NJ — A road was closed in southern Hoboken due to a fire, officials said just before 8 a.m. on Thursday.
"A small kitchen fire on First Street has been extinguished — but the road remains closed between Harrison and Jackson," the Hoboken Fire Department wrote at around 7:45 a.m.
"Please avoid the area if possible, or plan for delays," they wrote. "We will update when the road opens."

The street is near Hoboken's southern exit to Jersey City and the Holland Tunnel area.
"Our units are supporting Hoboken Fire as they extinguish a fire on the 600 block of First Street," police posted on social media a little after 7:30. "We ask that the public avoid the area. HFD is reporting the fire is under control at this time."

The Fire Department also posted that they had responded to a small electrical fire at the Hoboken boat house on the upper waterfront a day earlier, but there was no major damage, and the power was back on.
