Hive Appears Over Hoboken Sidewalk: City Reveals Whose Responsibility It Is
A wasp's nest appeared above a sidewalk in Hoboken last week. Who are you going to call?

HOBOKEN, NJ — On Thursday, this nest was spotted in a tree above a Hoboken sidewalk. It appeared on the 1100 block of Bloomfield Street.

Theoretically, it could fall. So whose responsibility is it? Patch reached out to the city.
"In situations like this, the responsibility for removing a wasp nest typically falls on the property owner, who should hire a licensed professional," said city public safety spokesperson Marci Rubin.

If the nest were located on city property, the city would handle its removal, she said.
2nd Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher, who dealt with a lower nest in a tree on 13th Street last year, said she would look into the matter on Monday.
