Rain Estimates Rise For Hoboken During Nor'easter: See New Flood Risk Map

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Hoboken is under a hazardous weather outlook, coastal flood advisory, and wind advisory this weekend as a nor'easter is expected to soak the area.

Rounds of rain are expected from Friday night through Sunday night, with the highest high tide in the area at 9:25 a.m. Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, wind gusts of up to 39 MPH will hit the area starting on Friday night.

Up to three quarters of an inch of rain will arrive Saturday, and up to an inch on Sunday.

The city's River City Fair has been postponed to the following Saturday.

Flooding Risks

The coastal flood advisory runs from Friday night at 7 p.m. to Sunday at the same time. The biggest chance for flooding may be the Sunday morning high tide of 5.3 feet.

High tide will be at 9:10 p.m. Saturday and at 9:25 a.m. and 9:48 p.m. Sunday. All tides are expected to be higher than 5 feet.

Hoboken officials have said in the past that the city's low-lying areas can flood if more than .8 inch of rain falls in an hour.
