Bell Works To Host 'Bailando Por Colombia' For Earthquake Relief

HOLMDEL, NJ — In the wake of a devastating earthquake that killed hundreds of people in Colombia over the summer, Bell Works will come together this fall to support relief and recovery efforts for those affected.

On Aug. 10, a 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia near San José del Palmar in Chocó department, according to a report from The Rio Times.

The incident resulted in thousands of injuries and hundreds of deaths, with over 466,000 people affected across five departments, the report said.

To raise funds and continue supporting relief and recovery efforts in Colombia, Bell Works will host Bailando por Colombia on Thursday, Oct. 15.

Described as "a fiesta with purpose," the event will celebrate Colombian culture, music and community while raising funds for relief and recovery efforts.

The festival will take place from 6:30-11:30 p.m. (6 p.m. early access for pre-registered guests) at Bar Bella in Bell Works.

From 6:30-9:30 p.m., there will be live salsa by the all-female band LULADA Club and a Latin DJ set from 9:30-11:30 p.m.

In addition to live music, the bar will also have signature drinks, Colombian-inspired bites and dancing all night.

Attendees are encouraged to come in their Colombian best by bringing " the color, the alegría, the sabor — and your most fabulous Colombian spirit."

For NPZ Studio+ Creative Director and Lead Designer Paola Zamudio, the event is "deeply personal," the metroburb said in an online post.

"Born in Colombia, Paola has brought her culture and belief in the power of community into Bell Works through Latin Nights at Bar Bella," organizers said.

"What began as a celebration of Latin culture has grown into something even more meaningful: a community coming together for Colombia when it matters most."

Bailando por Colombia is open to the public and tickets are optional.

Bell Works is encouraging a $30 donation through Eventbrite, which includes 6 p.m. priority access + one complimentary drink.

A portion of proceeds from Bailando por Colombia will benefit Cruz Roja Colombiana + World Central Kitchen, supporting relief and recovery efforts in Colombia.
