To be sure, the new all-star trio of Béla Fleck, harpist Edmar Castañeda and drummer Antonio Sánchez features instrumentation that might safely be called uncommon. Unless, of course, you’re already familiar with 19-time Grammy-winner Fleck — the genre-blurring virtuoso who has done more to expand the possibilities of the banjo than any other player in the instrument’s history. From his bluegrass beginnings through his otherworldly Flecktones, his duo with Chick Corea and his reimagining of “Rhapsody in Blue”, Fleck’s work never fails to surprise. What doesn’t surprise is the impeccable caliber of his collaborators — and this new trio includes two of the most gifted musicians of their generation. The harpist, Castañeda, hails from Bogotá, Colombia, and has led his own bands in addition to sharing projects with such masters as Hiromi, Paquito D’Rivera and Grégoire Maret. 
Five-time Grammy-winner Sánchez grew up in Mexico City and built a reputation as one of the great jazz drummers through his work with guitarist Pat Metheny. He’s also been a visionary bandleader, helming progressive groups like Bad Hombre, and collaborated with Corea, Gary Burton, Charlie Haden, Michael Brecker and other giants. His Golden Globe-nominated drum-set score for Alejandro González Iñárritu’s 2014 film “Birdman” earned him renown far outside the jazz world.
Playing original repertoire, much of it collaboratively written, this trio embarks nightly on fearless explorations that audiences will find irresistible — rich with strong melodies, gorgeous harmony and grooves that twist and turn while feeling fantastic.

Grammy award-winning and multi-platinum selling rock band SOUL ASYLUM started as Minneapolis' punk younger brothers to the Replacements and Husker Dü. Their 1992 breakthrough album, “Grave Dancers Union”, featured the international hits “Runaway Train”, “Black Gold” and “ Somebody to Shove”. “Runaway Train” won a Grammy, and its groundbreaking music video brought nearly two dozen missing and exploited children and teens around the world home to their families.
SOUL ASYLUM has released 13 original albums – including their most recent, 2024's “Slowly But Shirley” – with multiple live albums and assorted Greatest Hits collections. Their famous 1993 MTV Unplugged performance was released for the first time on vinyl as a coveted Record Store Day exclusive, and November 2025 also saw the 30-year-anniversary reissue of their “Let Your Dim Light Shine” album.
This upcoming show offers a rare opportunity to see SOUL ASYLUM's Dave Pirner and Ryan Smith perform an intimate, one-of-a-kind acoustic set.

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church welcomes the community to our annual Fish &amp; Chips Dinner on Sunday, April 19, 2026. The church is located at 246 Woodport Road, Sparta, between Route 15 and Theatre Center. Take out is 5:00-5:30 pm, dine in is 5:30-7:00 pm, last meal served at 6:30 pm, doors open for dine in at 5:15 pm. 
The event is open to the entire community and will feature Fish &amp; Chips prepared by Tastefully British in New Jersey. Guests may choose dine‑in or take‑out service. The dinner includes New England Cod Fish &amp; Chips or Chicken Fingers &amp; Chips, along with coleslaw, dessert, and a drink.
Tickets: ($22 pre‑sale / $25 at the door), to purchase tickets, contact Judi at 973-224-0986. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door. BYOB; soda and water will be provided. A 50/50 raffle will also be offered for dine‑in guests.
Proceeds from the event will support the outreach ministry of Shepherd of the Hills as we continue to care for our brothers and sisters in the community.
Pastor Jack shared, “Jesus sends us out to bring grace and love to others. We have been blessed with a facility that allows us to host non-profit groups as we all work to care for our brothers and sisters. There is activity here every day supporting those in need of faith and fellowship. We welcome all members of the community to join us in what promises to be a fun-filled event.”

Boating Safety Course on Saturday 04/25/2026 provided by a US Coast Guard and NJ State Police approved Boating Safety/Certification Course provider. All our instructors are USCG and NJ State Police certified.
US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 15-10 Lake Hopatcong is offering the course and exam to obtain your NJ Boating Safety License (NJ BSC) to operate a Power Boat/PWC (Jet Ski) legally on NJ waterways on Saturday April 25th. The course will be delivered at: 
Hopatcong Senior Center, 32 lakeside Blvd Hopatcong, NJ 07843
Course hours are 8am to 5pm with check in at 7:30 am.
The student fee for $75 paid in advance or $80 if paid on the day of the class.
All course material and the final exam is included.
Upon completion of the course and passing the exam, students will receive their NJ BSC, a lifetime Boating Safety Certificate issued by the NJ State Police Marine Services Division
