Hearing Over Civic Center Improvements, Recycle Your Trash!
Also, girls tennis takes on Sussex Tech, Little League meets, Women's Club comes together.

1. Tonight's mayor and council meeting will double as a public hearing regarding a $264,000 grant for which the borough has applied. The money was supposed to go toward Civic Center improvements. Feel free to come out to borough hall at 7:30 p.m. and voice your opinion. Here's the borough's official release regarding the grant.
2. Are you a bored housewife? Are you looking for companionship? Hopatcong's Women's Club is meeting at 10:30 a.m. at the Civic Center. The group does lots of charity work. Friendships form fast here. Stop by. If you can't make today's meeting, the next is on Oct. 20.
3. Hopatcong High School girls tennis is today's main sports attraction. The club will take on Sussex Tech at 4 p.m. at the Civic Center. (Lots of activity there today. Recreation Coordinator Sue Parichuck, whose office is based there, will be busier than usual.)

4. Oh, what do you know? More stuff happening at the Civic Center. Hopatcong's Little League will meet at 7 p.m. Members will most likely be talking club policy. They might even talk about the ich cost a hunk of dough.
5. Missed recycling day? Don't chuck your plastic in the garbage. Head over to the recycling center between 9 a.m. – noon to get rid of anything you feel you probably shouldn't toss in the trash. Mother Nature thanks you.
