Iconic Newsman's North Jersey Horse Farm Listed For Millions After His Death

SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ — A massive estate, previously owned by conservative political commentator, author, and television host Lou Dobbs, is for sale.

The property at 112 Quarry Road in Wantage was recently listed for a whopping $6 million. The property centers on a 5,419-square-foot, five-bedroom, four-bath Colonial, with a gourmet kitchen, sunroom, private office, four-car garage and primary suite with a spa-like bath, according to the listing.

Outdoor amenities include a heated Gunite pool, tennis court, half basketball court and an 11-acre pond.

The estate also includes a two-bedroom guest house and separate two-bedroom caretaker's residence. Its equestrian facilities feature two barns, 14 oversized stalls, 17 grass paddocks with turnout sheds, a sand ring and a 150-by-200-foot fenced riding arena, the listing reads.

The land is farmland-assessed but is not preserved, according to the listing, potentially leaving room for future development or customization.

The listing comes two years after Dobbs' death. Dobbs was best known for hosting CNN's Moneyline (eventually Lou Dobbs Tonight), a political and financial talk program, for nearly 30 years before it jumped to Fox Business Network and was canceled in 2021.

Dobbs died on July 18, 2024, after battling an illness.
