Students Earn NJ Boating Safety Certificates Through Free Hopatcong Program
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla Lake Hopatcong taught the course in partnership with the Hopatcong Police and School District.
HOPATCONG, NJ — The Hopatcong Police Department and Hopatcong School District partnered to offer a free New Jersey Boating Safety Course, with students and their families earning official NJ Boating Safety Certificates upon completion.
Hopatcong PBA Local 149 covered the cost of tuition, making the course available at no charge to participants. The course was taught by Patrick DeDeo and Laurence Orlans of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla Lake Hopatcong.
The police department congratulated all students and parents and guardians who completed the course and said it was proud to support safe and responsible boating on Lake Hopatcong.
