NJ Official Told That ICE Raped Her Daughters In Threatening Emails: Prosecutors

SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ — A Pennsylvania man has been arrested after sending threatening and harassing emails to a Sussex County public official, prosecutors said.

Karl Heideck, 45, of Jenkintown, Pa., faces cyber harassment charges following an investigation by the Newton Police Department and prosecutors.

On Aug. 2, a Sussex County public official, whose identity was not released by prosecutors, received emails containing "lewd, indecent, or obscene material," police said.

Specifically, the emails said that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents had raped the public official's daughters, “and they LOVED IT,” according to prosecutors.

The emails also claimed that the public official made Sussex County "'safe' for pedophiles" because “you love THEM, don’t ya, b****?” and called her a “dumb b****,” prosecutors said.

An investigation by the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office and the Newton Police Department determined that Heideck, who works as an attorney in Pennsylvania, was responsible for writing the emails, officials said.

Heideck was arrested and charged with fourth-degree cyber harassment. He is being held in the Morris County Correctional Facility while awaiting court proceedings.

If convicted, Heideck faces up to 18 months in prison.
