Jefferson Officer Receives Valor Award for Armed Domestic Incident Response

Grace Beebe was honored for protecting a domestic violence victim and disarming a dangerous suspect in Seaside Heights in November 2024.

JEFFERSON, NJ — A Jefferson Township police officer has been recognized for her actions during a dangerous domestic incident nearly two years ago, receiving a valor award from a regional law enforcement intelligence bureau.

Officer Grace Beebe was honored at the 2026 Monmouth & Ocean County Intelligence Bureau Valor Awards for actions she took on Nov. 24, 2024, while serving as a Class II special officer with the Seaside Heights Police Department.

According to the award citation, Beebe "displayed exceptional leadership and courage during a high-risk domestic incident involving an armed and dangerous offender."

The citation credited her with protecting the victim from imminent harm and said her "decisive coordination during a physical struggle led to the safe disarming and apprehension of a suspect attempting to access a loaded firearm."

"Patrolman Beebe's professionalism and bravery reflect great credit upon herself and the Jefferson Township Police Department," the citation reads.
